You try to look your best, to bring happiness and joy to all who look upon you, to stand strong during hard times. But there are those times where things come crashing down around you. No matter how hard you try, things are just sagging. You feel unkempt, messy, sloppy. You know you don't look as put together as others around you. "What's the point?" you wonder. "Just take me to the curb."
But you know, deep down, that things just wouldn't be the same without you. Others would notice the gaping hole you would leave in their lives. You are an integral part of all that is important in others' lives, the symbol of love, grace, and joy. Others gather around you and have reason to celebrate.
So when you are having a rough day, like our poor little Christmas tree had yesterday as is came crashing down on top of Leah, just remember how important you are and how much you are loved. Remember how there are people right there to pick you up and help put you back together. You are never going to be perfect, but the people who love you need you and couldn't imagine life without you, at Christmastime--or ever.
